Grandad comes to visit!

Sienna has been able to see her Grandad three different times already this year! He comes out here for business and we always get to see him even if only for a few hours. We keep telling him he should just move back since he's here so much :) Thanks for dinner, Grandad!

Take Your Time-Olafur Eliasson

We went to the SF MOMA yesterday and saw the Olafur Eliasson exhibit. I thought it would be great for Sienna because it's 3-dimensional and includes mirrors, water/mist, lights, reindeer moss, and tunnels. It was fun and interesting. John has annual passes to several museums in the city, so I have been trying to take advantage of that. I used to go more often when Sienna was younger, but now it's more difficult because she doesn't last long in her stroller and wants to touch everything. We'll keep going, but I'm learning to peruse more quickly. Here are some photos of her outside the museum. The quality isn't that good; what can I expect with a camera phone and a very active 16-month-old?!

Marie-Antoinette

Sienna and I visited the Palace of Legion of Honor yesterday. Although Sienna was not interested in the Marie-Antoinette exhibit, she did love running around the courtyard outside. She was dressed very appropriately for Valentine's Day and the exhibit donning her beret and heart cape made by Grandma Sue. The exhibit focused on the Petit Trianon at Versailles where Marie-Antoinette could escape from royal living and be herself. She was a wonderful mother and also a rebel for her time. Her marriage was arranged at the age of 14 and thereon she had a tragic life and finally death at the guillotine. The Petit Trianon is currently being restored so the exhibit includes pieces of furniture and artwork from the chateau.

SF Zoo

The sun finally came out this week, so Sienna and I headed to the SF Zoo with some friends. We didn't see any escaped tigers, but we did get up and personal with the goats. Sienna was very cautious and wasn't sure what to think of them. I don't blame her; they are big compared to her and their horns do not make them appear friendly.
