"Date" Night
Now that I usually work Thursday and Friday nights, Jeff and I try to have a date night on Wednesday. A few weeks ago, we made dinner together and watched a movie. During my pregnancy, Jeff and I went to a school fundraiser where I came across bacon-wrapped dates. I probably had at least a dozen; they were so yummy! So, for our date night, we made these bacon-wrapped dates to see if they were really as good as I remember. They were delicious! Salty and sweet; can't beat that combo. It's very easy: cut bacon strips in half and wrap around a pitted date, bake for 20 minutes at 375 degrees. We also made chicken bacon wraps (I guess I was in the mood for bacon). Cut the bacon in half and wrap around chicken chunks. Combine 2/3 cup packed brown sugar with 2 tablespoons chili powder and dip the bacon-wrapped chicken in mixture. Cook for 25 minutes at 375 degrees. Enjoy!
